True crime


higher suburban walls

security house calls

constant gnawing fear

most lost someone dear

predators lurking

on sidewalk corners

funerals for victims

and black clad mourners


we mean well

by doing away

with accelerated hell

as our justice


but no fair play

from criminals

as unsatisfied with illegal gain

they enforce torturous pain

repeating mindless violence

leaving no witnesses …..

…… only silence.
